just ordered some top mounts, now I need to find me some time!

While waiting for your top mounts to arrive get some Plus gas or similar release agent and spray the pinch bolts at the bottom of the strut and the rear damper bolts.

Do this twice a day until you are ready to fit the kit.

+1 for soaking bolts well in advance. I didn't bother doing it until I had the car up on stands and found the lower strut mount bolts a PITA. Interestingly the n/s bolts were noticeably harder work the the o/s bolts, probably due to most puddles/mud etc being on the n/s

hmm shouldn't there be more mud and puddles on the o/s (passenger side) rather than the n/s (Driver side) ?

Hi Ming

Did you transform the sentence properly Ming?

I sometines get salt going across the car so the drivers side is worse than passengers side, if the component is protected e.g. inside the wheel like drums and discs.

I normally have to cook fastners with a butune torch to suck the plus gas into the threads, when you squirt it on the hot component, but dont start a fire...

Yup, but you still have an offside and a nearside, they just happen to be different to ours.

Well got them on.....was a two day job for me, including the topmounts, stud conversion and the rear suspension bushes.
Those last ones were a pain in the you know what.....
spraying the nuts with oil worked a treat though.

She sits 4cm's lower now, still on her original 145 tires which are being worked much harder now.
Feels great however, no more cornering on the doorhandles!

Becauuse kerb side will always on the passenger side (assuming u drive in the uk and RHD ), therefore more mud and puddle are more likely to be formed at the side rather than the middle of the road.

all makes sense now because his car is LHD , which matches my logical thniking
