I seem to be a bit confused with my arms/blades...
I've got a couple of "notches" on the o/s arm so it's clearly fouling on the bonnet.
I've attached some pics.
Could someone please steer me in the tight direction 😫

First are they the correct length wiper blades for each side?
Next are there marks both ends of the travel as this can be caused by wear in the linkage allowing the arms to "flop" to far in each direction?
Assuming all of this is correct, then hopefully all you have to do is flip up the plastic cover above the spindle , slacken the 12 or 13mm nut there, push down on the arm about 6 inches from the spindle and if lucky it should release from the tapered spline, keep it in place and try to just move it up to the next spline, make sure it engages correctly on that spline , then holding it down on spline refit and tighten the nut firmly as before and wet the screen and try wipers, fast speed will give max. travel in each direction to check if any fouling.
Note if you have misaligned them be ready to switch off ignition quickly to prevent damage rather than stopping wiper switch as it will still continue to it's park position.
If you follow my instructions and are careful you should be OK, however a Windscreen "specialist" didn't do that on my daughters VW Golf and broke the arm at a cost of nearly £90.!!! Luckily I was there or he may have told her the arm was faulty.:(

Thanks, Mike. They are the specified length blades and there doesn't "seem" to be excessive play in the linkage. Also the blades are parking correctly and the upstroke is still within the screen. The "notches" on the o/s arm are clean bare metal, so I'd wondered if, when I'd replaced the blades 6 weeks ago if I'd refitted the arms wrong way around.

Normally if one blade is longer than the other, it is on the drivers side.
So if you had no issues before fitting the new blades then do not alter the spline position.
Just a thought, was the bonnet up when you tested the new wipers?
If you stop the wipers in their highest position using the ignition key, then offer the bonnet up towards the wipes and see if marks coincide, presumably a corresponding mark will be on the bonnet edge.:)

Halfords sell a very small puller to safely remove the wiper arms and I must say it's a fab bit of kit.

Tools are always very useful , although the windscreen "professional" used a puller to remove the arms on my daughters VW Golf, but it didn't stop him breaking the arm by refitting badly.:(

How long have you had the vehicle? Is it possible the vehicle has some accident history as the clearance between wipers and bonnet is normally quite close when correct so if repaired in the past something could just be slightly out of line or slightly bent. Just an idea

I've only had it a couple of months. When I got it there was no marking, so I'm presuming thar I've refitted the arms incorrectly at some point. Which was why I was looking for a definitive description of which arm to which side with which length blade 🤔

Yes fair enough. As i said, just an idea 🙂

From the marks I suspect it was the open bonnet that came into contact.:)
