I was driving last monday to work at night in torrential rain on the motorway and all of a sudden the driver side windscreen wiper stoped working.. i pulled over and checked what had happend, and somehow the arm/rod that moters the wiper has come off, i managed to pop it back on but it kept coming back off after maybe 1 or 2 wipes.. i went to the garage around the corner to check how much it would cost to fix and they said i need a hole wiper system put in ect ect.. is this true!?.. all it needs is something to hold on the rod.. images & video below.. any help what to do / need?

just had the same problem happen to me!
i glued a rubber washer onto the end and it seams to be holding out at the moment although i don't think it's the best solution. might try the cable-tie idea.
regards, sean.

i tryed the cable tie and it seems to be holding but you dont get a full wipe of the screen, but its better than nothing!.. still trying to find out if this fixable without having to buy the hole new wiper system, at the end of the day its only a little somthing i need to put on the end of the round bolt that holds the arm and the blade together to make it move and not fall out.. (n)

why no just get a 2nd had wiper motor with all the linkages and stuff for bout 20quid
