I have a Ring magnetic LED light thats good. On line at c £13. Has a hook as well but I find the magnetic thing nearly useless apart from ficxing it on my toolbox for storage. I have a Rolson erchargeable LED that is free standing and excellent and a Rolson battery LED that was good until I dropped it.. I nearly bought a Lidl double LED lamp with stand at c £14 just yesterday. It has a 4 hours on a charge on one light and 2 hours with two lights. Looks really good. Magnetic lights shine only downwards which is ltle help under a car when you want up lights hence magnetic not really helpful. Better get a light with a lead and budog clip style clamp. The LED LIDL and Rolsons are very very good though.

I think its this one you almost bought?

Yes thats it, the ones I already have are similar and the Rolson still gives 45 minutes of light on full power after at least 10 years. Brilliant piece of kit and really tough. It also serves as a power bank so even morew useful. I also have a collapsible LED lit warning triangle its only been used once but is a small comfort if needed at night. It even has a fashing exclamation mark symbol.

I got fed up with LED lights falling over so I just bought an old car inspection lamp from B&Q for about £8 it’s wired but the light floods out in multiple directions I don’t have to constantly move it and don’t have to change batteries.

If I want to get into a smaller area I have a maglite and if I want to go hands free with the mag light you just take the front off and use it in candle mode.

I considered buying something more like the maglite, but i figured i'd try to flood the under of the car with light first.

I may end up getting a magnetic one as well. This was the one I saw, you get two for £15, its in my Amazon basket for a maybe purchase later.

I spend a fair amount of time in the backyard at night, i currently use a floodlight that is above the back door and I have a portable mains powered halogen lamp as well. I find the portable lamp awkward to attach to the power socket, it has to be fed through the conservatory window. So the new high power battery one might make life a bit easier.
