Hi guys !!

I'm planning to order some 17" Team Dynamics Race Pro 1.2 wheels for my 1.4 Lounge I'm just wondering what offset will look best (ie. aligning just right with the fender without any spacer mods ? )

I've done some research online and found the following setup ... The pic below demonstrates the Team Dynamic Race Pro 1.2 in 17" with an offset of et25, now the missing bit is what width shall I be looking at ? 17x7 et25 ? 17x7.5 et 25 ? or 17x8 et 25 ?

I'd love slight concave look on it but without sacrificing any rubbing with the et25 offset.

I wish to see more pics of the Team Dynamics Race Pro 1.2 on the 500s ! If you have any pics please share it up here :D :D

Cheers !!!!!

Going for a different offset is silly. The offset of the standard wheels is ET35 and changing the offset can adveresely affect the handling of the car and durability of suspension components.

On the size of your wheels - which size are you opting for ?
17x7 et25 ? 17x7.5 et 25 ? or 17x8 et 25 ?
plus what size tyre are you going for ?

The biggest size that the A500 drivers are going for is 17x7 whilst with the 'standard' A500 17inch it is 17x6.5
Some have opted to go for a lighter wheel like the 'OZ Alleggerita' and weights are on another thread.
Tyre size on the standard A500 are 215/45/17 whilst on the esseesse wheel that are 225/45/17 (hopefully someone will confirm if this is correct)
Do you plan to upgrade the suspension with these 'new' wheels or are you going to leave it standard ?

EDIT: I have just seen a set of 17" Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2. They are 17 x 7 & have an offset of E27 and according to TMC Motorsport fit the A500 perfectly. TMC are doing a 'package' price including Yohos of c. €1K and they don't need wobble bolts like the OZs. Looks like you've done your homework.(y)

I would lke to correct the above posting.

A500 17inch wheel takes a 205x40x17 tyre in 17inch Petal, 10 spoke and esseesse 'form'.
They have been variations of 215x40x17 and 205x45x17 (G-Tech A500) - these are non-standard whilst the Abarth Assetto Corse use 205x50x17
The standard Abarth wheel that is 6.5J is 16 inch. This 6.5J can take a increase in tyre size up to 205.

EDIT: Added a picture of the TMC wheel offer and there's currently a secondhand set for sale in the classfieds for £400 including a set of tyres (205x45x17) but I'm unsure if they will fit.

Tbh I'm you could use wider tyres if you wanted. Our Subaru came with 6" wide wheels and 205's. I don't think there are really any hard and fast rules other than to not do something silly. The tyres on the Subaru run maybe 5-10 mm from the bottom spring platform of the strut and that's the only thing I'd be wary of with unless you're going silly wide. Of course you don't want the tyre fouling the arch either......

The offset of a wheel relates directly to the width of the wheel. Therefore if a standard OEM wheel is 6" wide (J is not width but the type of tyre/wheel connection) and has an offset of ET30 a 7" wheel to sit in the same position will have a different offset as you need to accommodate the extra half inch width. What you go for depends if you want the extra half inch on the inside or the outside or a combination of both.

Staying same width but wanting to push wheel out you decrease the ET number or to get further in the arch raise the number.

It's pretty straight forward,really.

So with a set of say 17x7J with E35 (standard upgrade / esseesse/ 695) compared with the 'Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2' 17x7J E27 - the later one is closer to the arch.

Would you have any concerns about premature wearing of the suspension since you 'going away' from the standard E35 setting or would this depend if you're in a A500 or a standard 500 ?

Tis pretty much exactly how he says. Basically if you put a wheel on which is an inch wider yet the offset is half an inch higher (meaning the wheel sits then the wheel will still be at the same position in relation to the wheel arch.

Just remember to consider the gap between the front tyre/rim and the struts at the front. I doubt it'd be a problem but it's worth having a look at what the gap is now and doing the maths on what the new gap would be.

We have some great prices on the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 17" wheels now to forum members, they come in white, black, graphite and silver, ET 30 is most popular but you can get 25 and 38. We can also custom paint them any colour you ask for a small additional charge per wheel.
