Technical What engines fit 1 on 1 with the Fire 1.1 Engine? Or can i Boost mine?

As for the 1.4 8v. I wasnt too sure tbh. only ever come across a few mentions of it. Once being for sale on ebay (was certinatly a photo of a fire engine and not the 12v) but was sceptical as the time. Another was on here somewhere. Cant remember where though.

Edit - Quick google search and there is a 1.4 8v. Its from the Grande Punto.

Hmmm.. i can buy a complete Fiat Uno 1.4 Turbo here for 250,- think i am going for that.. first of all: thinking. 1.4 8v Turbo or 1.4 16v N/A on NOS.:yum:

Have you thought about the BMW V8 engine? If they can fit one in a Strada, its only a matter of time before someone puts one in an Uno...

I did a search too and it looks like you are very correct! There IS a 1.4 8v FIRE as fitted to the Grande Punto! I had no idea about this engine

However, despite being a 1.4 it only seems to push out 77bhp. I would've thought it would be more considering the 1242 8v Punto 75 engine is pushing out 75 bhp. Torque is likely to be better for the 1.4 though I suspect power is lower than expected because of emissions and stuff.

i dont know how possible this would actually be, but if you were to get your hands on one of these 1.4 8v engines, you could swap the head for the one from the Uno and swap the cam from the 1.4 into the Uno head. Should be good for a 60-65hp 1.4 unit I expect? An enlarged throttle body would do wonders aswell. So would a remap. However, it should run fine off the standard uno setup in this guise.

you can put either a 1.2 punto or palio engine in a 1.1 fire uno , with minimum modification
