That wouldn't make sense for bluetooth though would it.
If you press the button then it takes you into the phone menu.

Hmm interesting, that is usually for the Band setting on the radio. Is it on CD Mode that it switches to Bluetooth as many buttons have multiple functions.
I think in this situation you really do need to read the manual.

Well, I did read it once and have now read it a 2nd time.
Willey was right - BND does stand for BAND
However the logic of pressing the BAND button in order to access the bluetooth hands free features like phone-book defeats me completely

There are only limited buttons available so im sure that they use whatever ties in with the circuitry easiest in manufacture or development.
