Hello all,

I have a new problem with my 500. The front tyres have a very odd wear pattern. Both front tyres have the outer side completely worn off while the inside still has some thread left. Is this normal when you run out of thread on the 500 or is something wrong with my alignment? The car drives fairly straight when I let go of the wheel. I have an appointment for a new set of tyres next week so if anything needs attention to prevent this on my new set I'd like to get it fixed beforehand.

Based on these pictures I'd guess the camber is off although it looks like the tyres should wear on the inside instead of the outside.

Probably just tracking out of adjustment and wear from turning / parking. Most wear caused by old supspension seems to wear the inside edges in my experience, Get the tracking checked and adjusted when the tyres are fitted. Money well spent. After 50K miles some suspension may be worn so ask for them to tell you if they see anything else and report back before getting work done.

I’ve just had my Sedici tracked today as it’s done exactly the same as that. Quite normal if tracking is out I would say

The 500,s suspension components are not the biggest or strongest things out there, age ,wear & tear, potholes ,and curbs etc all have the potential to knock the tracking out quite easily! i have mine done every second year at the same time as the mot and to ensure best road holding over the winter months.
