In that case as said check the timing and the Co2 levels, if your not sure what they are let me know.....

Just had a look and that carb was available on the 900 and 750 young, can you confirm what engine you have? Although both are showing the same spec Timing 5 deg BTDC with no vacum and Co level 1.5% =/- 0.5 so min 1% max 2%

There are other consideration that will effect fuel ecconomy such as points, spark plugs, brakes, bearings, tyres etc etc.

Timing is easilly checked by a strobe light and changed by loostening the nuts on the top and bottom of the distributor and turning whilst pointing the strobe at the timing marks on the flywheel/top of the gearbox.

You will also need to adjust the idle to keep the revs correct when adjusting then check the Co again.

What MPG are you getting? should be at least high 40's unless you have a heavy right foot which isn't hard to do on the 750 to keep it moving.

Just a thought - although it's an oil producing nation, I have no idea what quality of fuel is available at the pumps in Iran.. it could be a much lower octane rating compared to what we are used to in the UK.

samfarzi, I re-timed the ignition on my 750 without a strobe. I loosened the distributor until I could *just* rotate it by hand, then with one hand on the throttle linkage and one on the distributor I revved the engine up and down until it ran as well as I could get it to. Then I switched the engine off and tightened up the distributor. This isn't the best way of doing it, but in the absence of a strobe it's probably the only solution..

Cheers,
