just been checking out the bravo and discovered the carpet is starting to pull away in the passenger footwell at the side of the centre console and directly under the clutch pedal the carpet has become almost threadbare with the pedal contact - do you think this/ these will be covered under warranty

I really doubt that, unless its very new and it has happened in a very short period of time then maybe... Place another carpet under the pedal area that contacts the floor...

Our car is only 9 months old 9K on clock - I dont class that as resonable wear and tear and if I need mats so the original carpet doesnt get holed Fiat should supply them.(n)

Anybody elese got the same problem with the clutch pedal making a hole in the carpet.

I havent noticed, but I will have a look tomorrow in the day light! I've done 2000 miles more than you so then you will have something to guage it against! :)

I've done 18k and so far not a mark or any fault appearing on any of the carpets.

If you're constantly in and out the car, dirty feet, heeled shoes etc then the carpet in your car isn't going to last long at all. I'd also say if all you do is town driving when your changing gears constantly then the clutch pedel is going to cause wear on the carpet very quickly. There's nothing really that can be done about that. The manufacturer to fit a little metal plate where the clutch pedal contacts the floor to help the wear but how many people are going to get fed up of hear the metal 'chink' everytime they change gear.

That's why you should have car mats. £20 or so once a year and the original carpet stays in perfect condition. Easy to lift out and clean.

Surely the carpets should be ok after 9k. If mats were necessary they should be included. The cars are sold without mats and, as such, should be suitable for purpose. Obviously not so take it back and claim under warranty.
I can't really see fiat turning the claim down after the publicity from the press re poor carpet quality.(y)
