General Upholstry Stains!

Had this on my classic mini cooper. as mentioned before a wet dry vac will do the trick.
Wait until summer and remove the seats from the car to dry. When dry apply some of this as it will protect from further stains

I'm lucky as my mum does cleaning for the council and she borrowed one of these

not sure why above link didn't work try copy and paste ^^^^
It will come out as I have done this more than once on several cars.

The seats will naturally discolour when dyes and dirt are transferred from your clothes to the seat. It's more noticeable in the Lounge due to the colour of the cloth.

I used a Vax wet 'n' dry vacuum cleaner with the scrubbing nozzle attachment. The water was filthy afterwards but it brought the seat up a treat! Try renting one, if you use the proper detergent it should work brilliantly. Just remember to use constant strokes over the entire seat base, or you'll end up with tide marks like in your photos!

Lidl got a wet+dry vac for £50 this week i seem to remember.

The Lidl one only removes liquids, it doesn't 'apply'. It's not very good either, I had one but got rid of it. You need one that sprays water, scrubs the stain, and then removes it again all in one attachment. Any Vax Carpet Cleaner is perfect for the job.

Watch this cheesy video to see what I mean, 55 seconds (and the video still, handily) is the tool I used. It puts the water down, agitates it, then sucks it back up in one movement.

Spray bottle and a brush does just as good a job. ;) Thinking about the lidl one as a back up incase my Viper ever plays up on the job. :)

I believe that steam cleaning should do the trick.
If you are concerned about the airbag, just disconnect the negative false pole from the battery.
BTW, after reading this thread, I'm so glad I ordered my Lounge with leather seats.:)

Houndstooth fabric is crap, water marks will show. It seems like fiat didn't treat/wash the fabric.

Find a sunny half a day, use any fabric shampoo that froths and use a clean medium size sponge to wipe the entire seat and backrest and let it dry out. This should do it as you can't clean a small area without water mark circles showing.

Apply supaguard spray, but ask a garage to do this for you as you will need mask/gloves. May be better to supply your own cans to them.

Good luck.

I tried that, it didn't shift a single bit of the dirt in my seats. Not to mention that the Lidl one has bugger all suction power, it left most of the moisture in my seats and they took ages to dry! The Vax upholstery cleaner solution is brilliant stuff.

4 years ago i had a vw polo with cloth interior and i had the same problem. I tried to clean it with a steam cleaner but stains were just fading. What really helped is that i paid 50 euro for an upholstery interior biological cleaning. ^_^ Problem solved.
