My 2010 Sport driver's seat started looking a little weird only about 6 months in. I've never had liquid in the car and never felt wetness on the seats. I took it to a Fiat shop, not the one I bought it from because I've moved. They said, no, I haven't seen this before and it's just normal discoloring from my clothes. I'm extremely upset that they're trying to tell me this is normal! Does anyone else have this experience?

Ive seen that on all normal cars and to be honest yes if you sit on the car wet from rain or whatever other reason then this will happen. If you want a solution, some leather would help = )

But Ahmett,
Why have I never seen this in any other car? They weren't all black or leather. Is it just the particular vinyl material Fiat used for the 500?

we had the same colour seats in an 06 plate clio we had, both ended up in the same state, never did get round to getting it all out, you can get cleaning fluids that will remove most of the marks, but id think steam cleaning would be the only way to remove it all....not sure how that would affect airbags act in the seats though

I mean it does look like I've had some sort of accident over and over but I still chose to ignore him!

The answer should be to use a "wet vac" and do the whole seat cushion - this should get rid of the water marks and prevent new ones (if you do the whole seat not just a patch).

In the UK you can hire such machines from supermarkets, DIY stores or hire shops.

has anyone tried hiring these and do they work on the seats? I have the same problem :(

My old 500 Sport had this problem. I've stupidly spelt some water and it was permanently marked. The only thing that helped was the wash of the whole seat with the same amount of upholstery shampoo - so it got evenly wet while washed. Even then the faint outline of previous stain was still visible. No problem in my Abarth Punto ;)

My problem is the car was 6 months old when I first started seeing the staining and I never got it wet. I haven't been in much rain but the stain keeps getting worse and worse. I think if Fiat is going to use a material to upholster a car with, you should be warned it's not going to stay nice and should get a seat cover. I've had many cars in my life and this is a first for me.
