General Undershield Panda TA 4x4 Cross

I have just bought used a 2019 Panda TwinAir 4x4 Cross & it has a steel undershield /Sump Guard. It was very rusty , whereas the rest of the vehicle is virtually rust free. Pic shows after sand blasting & repairs .Can anyone advise if this Is this a standard item or aftermarket?

That's the factory fit guard and that is in excellent condition! Most of them are seriously rusted with the sheet metal section paper thin. There is plenty of information regarding treating these for longevity on the forum, just do a search...

Yep, as others have said, that's normal. The actual car will be fine but I think they made these from some old steel they had left over from the 1970s such is their ability to rust. Yours is actually really good so give it a coating of something hard wearing and you should be fine. Here was mine alongside its replacement when I did the same job. That was off a 48k mile car that had even lived a couple of years out in Tuscany in nice dry conditions. Prior to that I assume it was parked in the sea.
