General Under seat subwoofer …

Hi,
Would like to upgrade my radio (hate to call it car audio).
I've been told that whatever I do I need a subwoofer to make it sound decent.
Since I don't want it to show that something has been done to it (read: retain the original look), I'd like to combine a small amplifier (eton micro 120.2) together with an upgrade of the speakers (compo set from either eton, focal, hertz or jbl don’t know which one yet) with - if possible - a compact under seat subwoofer s.a. Hifonics mrx168a.
Question: does anyone have experience if this is possible with the barchetta - is there sufficient space under our seats?

I am sure that I have read on here years ago that someone installed a sub under the passenger seat. I fitted the fiat speaker box behind the seats in mine. I think it was supposed to be some sort of sub but I scooped the internals out and just fitted some mid-range speakers in. Some recordings sound better than others but it is better sound than when I just had front speakers.

The front speakers are very easily replaced too.
