Hi,
I jacked my 1.9 150 '57 Bravo up on the weekend, as I'm planning to service it myself and thought it was worth having a nosey underneath ahead of time.
Like quite a lot of you fellow Bravovians, the plastic under engine protective cover catches speed humps all the time for me. When I took it off on Saturday there were a couple of things I was curious about:
1. Should there be a soft spongy material stuck to it (on the engine side)? I've found the replacement part on ebay but it doesn't have the spongy material stuck to it. Mine has seemingly absorbed a hell of a lot of oil over the years (but the oil leaks on it are another problem I need to look at!). If it is neccesary, anyone got a part number?
2. Should it be secured with cable ties at the back? If you look at the ebay listing above, the two oblong holes at the top of the picture are the ones that have cable-ties instead of screws on mine. All the other holes have screws through
Before anyone mentions it, the trolley jack on the right is a failsafe- I've got a 2nd axle stand directly behind it!
Thanks
