Hi all,

I'm trying to find a replacement DRL for the drivers side. The connection on the back has corroded badly so it keeps going off and on.

My problem is, when trying to find DRL's, I keep finding headlights with DRL in the title. I don't know if I am getting confused or if none of these sellers knows the difference between a DRL and a headlight.

My understanding is that of the 3 sets of lights on the front bumper, the top is the headlight, the middle is the DRL and the bottom is the fog light? The fact that I get a warning on my dash saying check daytime running light and it's the middle one that's gone would seem to suggest I have this right.

Do I have this wrong? Can anyone point me in the direction of where I might find a DRL (or whatever it is if it's not a DRL). Used or new, I don't mind. It's a 2008 Fiat 500 sport. I'm in the UK.

Basically the top 'headlight' houses the indicator and the low beam headlight bulb, the 'DRL' contains the DRL/sidelight (21/5W dual filament) bulb and the high beam (or 'main') headlight bulb - so it's 3 in 1 - and the bottom one is your foglamp.

Hopefully all you need is a new 21/5W T20 bulb! 🙃

Ah ok, starting to make sense now.

Unfortunately it's the whole housing I need. I had the bumper off a little while ago and saw how badly corroded the connections are, I think one of the metal prongs had completely vanished. Seems a lot of water has been getting in, there's also a lot of moisture in the housing itself.

Try club 500 italia on eBay they sell genuine second hand parts! If water has been getting in have you also checked the plug!? Is the circular rubber cover in place? Also the access door in the wheel arch!? I’ve got a 2011 500 and I have zero issues with water ingress

I'll take a look, thank you.

The rubber cover in place, however the access door is completely missing which I'm guessing is the culprit. I'll get a new one when I get the new light.

Yeah this items club 500 sell all the time! Yeah the door missing won’t help! All the water off your tire directly over the rubber cover!

Oh I know!!! Thankfully I got most of my work done on my 500 😂 suspension done .. under body seal done .. paintwork done! Just need another dry day to tackle my rear shocks!
Sounds like you got lucky. I've got to fit this light Sunday so I'm hoping it dries up by then!! Good thing is, because I had the bumper off a couple months ago, it'll be much easier to get off this time.

Grease up the bolts before you put em back on! Be even better if you ever need to have bumper off again!

This is better then what I found on ebay. Two stores near me where I can collect it (or throw it at someone if there's a problem), and the same price. Thank you!!
