over past few weeks my laptop mouse pad thing seems to be wearing out, when held in the light, its all shiney and worn in the middle, when i use it, it dances all over the place and dont do as i instruct it (n) am i able to change them? its getting hard to use, and im not using a mouse and also i cant, all my usb's are used up.

also when i looked the laptop is all worn where i lay my arm and the left button is really shiney. obviously i dont use my laptop much

Nope, nothing you can do which may not cause more damage, this loaned laptop has a similar problem, annoying but I can ignore it when my laptop is back from repair.

my mouse has a shiney center, works fine (but 70% of the lappy is worn shiney :D)

you tried updating drivers?:chin:

other than that, get your arse down to dixons, and buy a cheap laptop mouse (y)

i knew you would be the one to reply, your the "technical" one on the forum, lol

who??

me or paul??

anyway, it might be worht looking on ebay for a similar model with a broken screen, or just the chassis or something, it wont be "new" but should be better than what you got :D

Nah just have far too much experience around laptops.

I did forget to say "you could get a second hand one - they are usually ok to fit" BUT the second hand on may have a similar problem. The problem I have on this one is that the shiney bit slows your finger down and the rest of it is much quicker (the shiney bit is slightly tacky).

Mice also come with those "old" connection like PS2! Your Laptop will have one of these.

Now some peripheral manufacturers provide a USB to PS2 adaptor becuase USB slots could be taken up by other devices etc.

You sure? Consider a USB hub maybe....

Have you tried going into the settings and lowering the force needed?

shiny has nowt to do with it...it senses heat the pad does...chuck it in the fridge for 10 minutes and see if it helps...

if its sticky i advise u buy some kleenex young man!

Get an IBM (OK, new ones are Lenovo, but IBM branded), as they have a nipple pointer. I find them much better to use and it wont wear out as you can replace the cap.
