Tuning Today's Dyno run chart

Well either mine is an early 1.9 multijet 150 with a DPF - or examiner is lying when it's resetting the DPF!

What does a DPF physically look like - and does the non-DPF exhaust have a dummy box in it's place?

1.9 mjets dont have a DPF mate dont worry your safe lol!

aye i was going to anyway... last thing i want is for them to say the tuning box is the problem.. just to confirm mine is the 2.0l multijet Diesel 165bhp..

this is great news if they have been testing it... its just not listed on your site just yet.. but yeh let me know cheers

Hi Craig, just confirmed we now have the unit with fuel and boost pressure control for the 2.0 JTDM, it's only been road tested so far so no dyno chart, I would expect around 35bhp increase and around 60nm. If you want to test one on the car once its fixed let me know.

Funny story on the DPF, the local dealer who let me test the 2.0 JTDM kit today sells Alfa/Fiat/Skoda, he was telling me that the Skoda department are having terrible problems with DPF's, as I said yesterday if you do all town driving blocked DPF's can be a real issue, and Skoda's biggest customers are ...............................Taxi Drivers  Who do mostly short trips in town so DPF's are causing nightmares for dealers at the moment, I don't know how they are gonna fix this either without removing them!

Anyway we now have a Premium kit available with fuel and boost control for all 2.0 JTDM owners. Anyone wishing to buy can contact me anytime.
Thanks
Daron

Guys the easiest way to tell if your car has DPF is :

On DPF cars the tailpipe will point straight out and will be clean inside (no black soot) as the job of the DPF is to collect any soot passing through.

On Non DPF cars the tailpipe will point down to the ground to direct any smoke to the ground.

If you have a DPF car with a tuning box or re-map and you're getting smoke from the exhaust you are in for problems guaranteed.

hi mate, im very happy with the car, the guy who remapped was a pal hence the price being fairly cheap, im sure its ment to be around 300-350
he was pretty certain he could get mine upto around 220bhp but there could be possibilties that my clutch would slip or cause problems so i settled with the other figure, also there would be a fair amount of smoke lol. Around town mine has a slightly lower mpg figure but i think it maybe down to its boosting earlier at lower speeds ?? but on a long run down the motorway im getting figures of 63-64mpg at around 80-85mph which is a major improvement!! before id be likely to get 56-57mpg. I love it now and it pulls like a train!! I think the car really performs best on the motorway

Hows yours for smoke ?? do u get the odd puff when flooring it ?? any improvements on mpg??
Oh yeh just noticed you have 2.0mjet, mines 1.9mjet!! u took a gamble getting a tunning box !! watch out for DPF problems, this is one of the reasons why i went for the 1.9mjet over the 2.0mjet, this was all explained to me when i asked about remapping the bravo before i brought one, Red dot advise me on this.. hope all goes well for you!!

hi thanks for that update.. iv not got any remap or tuning box on mine just yet but i am lookin to do that.. lucky for me i only do motorway miles mainly with the odd town run.. So at the moment no smoke at all even when flooring it... im hopin they can remap my car even if it has got a DPF pretty sure it can be done stil i am hoping for around 200bhp as well if they cant sort my car out i will be looking to sell it. Plus by the sounds of it with all these problems of the DPF might be worth while doin that.

your MPG figures are what im after but im only going to be travelin around 70mph on the motorway. I might try getting in touch with red dot see what they have to say.

TMC - how much is the premium kit for the 2.0l Mjet?

cheers will it be possible to put the results on your website when you get the dyno run results if you get any?

Yes as soon as we can get one to the dyno, some dealers can be funny about letting you run their brand new cars on a dyno ;)

If you get a kit you could dyno your own car and if not happy with the results just send it back for a full refund. If the results are not good i'll also refund you the cost of the dyno run. Don't think I could be fairer than that.

The local dealer I was at today only had one 2.0 Mjet Alfa 159 out of around 100 cars! Most were 1.9 MJets. Seems to be still a fairly rare model.
Even if I got that Alfa on the dyno its unlikely the results would be exactly the same as your Bravo which is slightly smaller and lighter.

I missed this when it was posted...

Not perfectly clear, but that(them) exhaust(s) I'm sure points straight out the back.
