I have read that the "service fill" for engine oil is 3 litres (2.8+ 0.2 for the oil filter) If I put 3 litres in the dipstick shows way over full. I reckon about 2.5 litres of oil brings the dipstick to the "full" level. Has anyone else found this to be the case. By the way I sucked sump oil out of the dipstick tube rather than undoing the sump plug.

I've Allways found it closer to 2.8l for full fill
But I'm guessing with sucking it out you having some remain in the engine block and not drain out
