Technical Thoughts please, diesel tuning

Not been here for quite a while, my bad. I'd really welcome any thoughts or links or anything really to do with what would be involved in making a 1.9 turbo diesel into something quite lively please? It's for inspiration I guess, I like the way turbo diesel engines produce their power with no need to rev them to the moon. Thank you very much in advance for any thoughts

Depend on engine, if it's pre o post common rail method change, but idea is the same: more air, more fuel.

Thank you mate, I'll do a better job at explaining once I've had some kip but perhaps the multijet engine (if it was available in the mk2 Punto) is what I'm thinking. Appreciate the reply

Yes mk2 was common rail JTD 80-85hp (Unijet) and after mJTD or Multijet 100hp.
At first stages it can be simply re-flashed in engine ecu to gain power without mechanical mods.
