Cant see what the problem is, you have the slip as the new owner, fill in the road tax form, wait to get it back. Why would you want to know where the dealer bought it from?. You will eventually know the previous registered keeper of the car, but is that important?.
If a dodgy deal emerges, its not going to make any difference, you have already bought it.
Tony.

So why have the questions kept coming?

Thanks for offering to get involved with my query but you obviously haven't read what i've said in my posts so you won't understand it. I've got alot of good advice so far so don't need any more input thanks.

Reddy4Bed - The new keeper supplement has someone else's details on it - someone who DVLA say has never owned the car - which was the main reason for my confusion, as i explained in detail in my previous posts, and I'm happy enough now with the outcome i got from the seller so you don't need to assist me now thank you.

Cheers guys :)

Put your mind at rest and invest in a HPi check. They cost about £3, and you get the result immediately. They show if car reported stolen, has outstanding finance or has an insurance 'history' Well worth it.

When is the MOT due? If you have the existing MOT cert, check the chassis & registration plates of the car match those on the MOT cert. If you dont have any form of MOT certificate for the car, the trader may have turned you over, as it is illegal to sell an un-roadworthy car.

Get the car MOT'ed pronto. Driving a vehicle without a valid MOT is a serious offensense, and invalidates your insurance.
While doing the MOT the garage will check the vehicles identity against the DVLA database. Anything untoward will very quickly be flagged up.
