Just like to say a big thankyou to all the members on here who post technical help on problems.
My Marea 110 JTD was starting to give me big worries as it was losing power, kicking out a bit more smoke than usual and i thought i had a big bill coming right on xmas.
First place i turned too was this forum and it wasnt long before i found out it could well be the common fault of a sooted up EGR valve, some members posted pictures and lots of info on how to take it apart and clean it up.
So armed with my print off's i had ago today in my lunchtime, well all can say is it was well blocked up with soot to the point the solinoid wound'nt move, half a can of WD40 and lots of kimwipe and it was all moving and looking a hell of a lot better, i put it all back together and YES problem solved.
Really i would just like to say a big thankyou to all on this forum who have contributed technical help as it helps people like me sort out out problems that i would proberly have to take to a garage to get diagnosed..
And if you have a JTD engine and have never cleaned the EGR valve i recommend it as it feels a lot better and smoother than before and it is a really easy job to do.
