I live in South Africa and got my 1995 Uno Fire 1100 a while ago. I don't know much about cars and hope someone could help me out..

What is the fuel tank's capacity and how many litres in the reserve tank?

I would also like to know approx how far one can go when the little orange light turns on?

Hello, welcome

The Uno's fuel tank capacity (for petrol non-turbo versions) is 42 litres. There is no reserve tank as such (the wording in handbooks etc. can be slightly confusing). The orange light comes on when there are at least 5 litres (specs say 5 to 7.5 litres) remaining - with the light on continuously, when the car is level.

The light will come on during corners much sooner than this, i.e. with much more fuel remaining (as much as 15 litres).

You should assume that when the light is on continuously, 5 litres remains. 5 litres is enough for about 60km driving around town or about 80km driving on the open road.

Armed with this information you may become complacent about the need to fill-up, but bear in mind that the same amount of petrol has to go in sooner or later, and sooner is better for peace of mind  But at least when the orange light comes on and you're 50km from a petrol station, you know you'll be OK.
