My Black Multijet was a demo car. They said they didnt think it had Supaguard so charged me to have it done before I collected it.

Looked nice and shiney. After driving 56 miles a day Monday to Friday it looked like a tractor.

I washed it today thinking the dirt would just roll off it and it would dry all shiney like they said, and errr..... it was streaky as f***!!!!

Took me a good hour to go all over it with dry clothes to get the streaks off and the bonnet felt like it had never been polished let alone Supaguarded.

Can someone on here please explain to me what its supposed to be like when you wash it?

I used the special acid rain shampoo they gave me with the Supaguard kit, so I know it wasn't any shampoo causing the streaks.

Plus the bonnet definately hasn't been done, there was nothing on there at all but paint.

I gotta take the car back Friday coming, as when they took the demo stickers off it, they took some of the paint off as well so they said they'd respray the rear bumper. What I'm not happy about and gonna kick up about on Monday is, they said I couldnt have a courtesy car!!!

What pees me off is, although the car was a demo, it wasn't that much cheaper than a new one, so surely as it's still under warranty for another 2 and half years they can lend me bloomin courtesy car while they put right what they fecked up in the first place taking the rear stickers off???

Personally I think supagard is a special product. Its purpose is to line the pockets of dealers.
Personally I'd rather save a few hundred pounds and buy a bucket and sponge.

Sorry to say but there is no such thing as a free lunch.

You purchased an ex demo which is just another second hand car

On the good side enjoy the way the multijet drives you can't see the paintwork from the inside!!

I paid the dealer to have the car treated with supaguard, which was about £350, and they haven't done it.

It may be a second hand car, but it cost more than if I'd bought a petrol version brand new! I paid £6k for the car, plus the supaguard and expected it to be done.

I wash my Panda by hand using a nice fleecy mitt, and then dry him off (unless the big black clouds in the sky tell me not to bother...:p). That gives Dez a nice streak-free finish (y). (Weather permitting) I use Meguiars to give him that nice shiney finish... Why do people pay £350 for Supaguard?

I was told by the salesman that supaguard is just dandy; but can't go through a carwash. So it's a handjob...lots of smilies here I'm sure:rolleyes: .

So I said, 'bu**er that', I need a car that can be shoved through a carwash and come out the other side intact...dee dahh. So no special paint treatments for me. Just a wash now and again. And after three years, and more, the car still looks, er, cleanish? The spring will require a proper wash of course, with sponges and warm water and things. Am I the only one who just sees a car as transport? Plus a bit of a fun on the side, when possible?

Yea the sugar beet season will be interesting.

They told me in the dealership that it's fine to wash the car with one of those Jet Washes in garages, even tho it's been supaguarded. I suppose they're less damaging than the whole auto car wash system?????

Yea I think that shampoo sucks too. It was that caused the streaks.

I think I'll use the shampoo I use on my Mini.

I gotta admit tho the supaguard does make the car look nice and shiney, and the dirt on the Norfolk roads doesnt seem to stick to it as much as my other car that hasnt been supaguarded (autoglymed). So far the only part of the bodywork that seems to get plastered up here is the rear end, so maybe I'll just throw a bucket of water over it's bum once a week and leave the rest :D

Ulpian, all my car's are my babies and have names! Sick I know but it keeps me amused lol
