I need advice o recomendations please.

I need some decent components size 13cm any recomendations?
I also need a amp that is poweful enough to power them and another set of components. Also needs to be quite small so can be fitted under the passengers seat.

I have seen an in phase amp that looks like it could do the job its a:

In Phase IPA1001 1000 Watts 2 Channel Amplifier.

If you can suggest anything better or similar that would work please do.

Hi mate

Regards to the inphase amp no one here will recommend inphase even if you paid them.

Component wise for 13cm - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/aud...-p-7298.html?cadid=r75l96sb5tceo3ckb1lj16oj04

Something like that i would reccomend, depends how much you want to spend / what you want from it. To be honest one good set of components at the front is better then two ok sets for front and back. Get 16.5s! :p

Hi Pal

I see Hmmm any advice on what amp to go with then do you know any small powerful ones that will fit under my passenger seat?

May i also ask what is wrong with In phase i'm new to car audio systems and will help me to learn for future projects.

I allready have Pioneer front components they will be amped with the rear ones when i buy them and an amp. The front pioneers are 6.5" and cost around £220 -£250 I can't remember how much i paid now as it was a year ago i just never amped them. Which i know was silly this is why i am looking to now lol.

What price range you got for the Amp?

The Alpine PDX series have a very small footprint. They are pricey though. I have the PDX 4.100 in mine.

Ah i see. Well if the amp is just for front a rear speakers something like this should be adequate - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-gto504-p-6324.html?cadid=h3v4r8qheqhafq19t3hdt16ab5.

The reason why i know some much about people's opinions about bad brands like inphase is because i nearly brought a full setup made up of inphase and other brands from CAC until i found this forum and people put me straight :) It's mainly to do with build quality i believe and how they are rated and how they are tested / perform. Inphase might say 1000 watts / 500rms but in reality it's only 150 rms and the quality is rubbish. Also stuff from brands like inphase tend to brake easier, but usually alot of people end up with their brand because it's what alot of companys will try and flog and is the pinical of ICE in places like halfords etc.

From what i know brands you want in your car is stuff from JBL / JL audio(my setup) / Rainbow / Alpine. Stuff you dont want in your car is stuff from FLI / Inphase / Vibe / Sony.

The worse brands may claim to have high specs but in reality they are no where near and the quality isn't even worth comparing. For stuff like JL audio you will be paying a hard price tag but is some of the best quality stuff you can get out there. Personally having heard several JL audio setups and having a JL audio setup myself i will never have anything else but now.

There is nothing wrong with inphase. It is just that for the money there is better and the fact that car audio centre so blatently try and force you to buy it.

But then it all depends how much you want to spend. Brands like JL will obviously sound better than FLI because a set of components will set you back at least £200 whereas FLI are something like £40.

So the big question of what is your budget?

I would think most 2 channel amps will fit under the seat. The main issue is to ensure all the wiring is okay and wont get damaged when chair is moved.

I will say what i say to everybody else. If you set up the fronts properly you will reap the rewards more than just adding loads of speakers.
The stage should be up front so i suggest that you finish this off first. I would recomend that you add a couple of sheets of sound deadening or even three if your budget can stretch. You can get deadening Via me see the Sticky at the top of this section or the group buys.
Which car is it you have.

Then you need to make a proper mount for the front speakers using MDF as this will give the speaker a solid mount to really kick off of :slayer:

As to an amp with a small footprint as much as i hate to recommend vibe i have heard very good things about this range.

Do you know the model no of the speakers as you may be able to bridge the channels to give each set of front comps a massive £250 w

This would be perfect.

Regarding amps, I am really enjoying listening to my alpine sps-171a's now they are powered by a MRp-T222 amp, they have a totally different character and have a much warmer sound (i have even been asked where the sub is lol). Its only 50watt per channel dual channel amp but to be honest produces more than enough volume for my needs (mind you i drive a panda). The big selling point for me was its size tho, and it fits nicely under the passengers seat out of view. The fact that i picked it up for 50 quid new on ebay was a bonus! As volx says finish off the front end first then decide what/if you need in the back. Its worth spending the extra couple of quid on the front - wish i did originally instead of letting my dealer fit a sony hu then trying to improve it myself with some over priced speakers from halfrauds. You are only going to cause yourself all kinds of issues if you put too much sound in the back such as highs clashing etc. My rears are running at about 1/3 (if even that) the volume of the fronts. Instead of buying comps for the rear (which IMHO is a waste) I would get some deadening in the front doors, should really let the pio's shine. The stuff volx sells is very highly regarded (looking to get some myself when funds allow). What car do you have, there is prob someone on here with the same motor who could provide advice on what works best.

If you already have Pioneer components up front I would suggest keeping these and rather than adding rears spend the money on a quality amp. Less can be more in car audio.....

I second what was said above, get some soundproofing in there and pay good attention to the mounting of the woofers. Used MDF mountings and deaden the doors.

Cheap speakers can sound suprisingly good if well fitted, expensive ones like cheapies if not.

For a nice system (with appox £500 budget) i would go along these lines:

Amp (Quite expensive but can be kept if you upgrade later on, and be bridged to run the front end)

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hertz-ep4-p-6327.html?cadid=82uig4tok38p28t6pi124u52j5

Sub (i would have this and disconnect or fade out your rear speakers)

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hertz-dieci-ds250-p-6345.html?cadid=82uig4tok38p28t6pi124u52j5http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-gt51204br-p-7434.html?cadid=82uig4tok38p28t6pi124u52j5

Comps (13cm)

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hertz-dieci-p-6122.html?cadid=82uig4tok38p28t6pi124u52j5

This would leave you a £100 for wiring and fitting,

I hope this helps, i think if your budget is much smaller, it would be better to wait a while, also a key phrase to remeber is 20% kit, 80% fit. It is all about how you fit your kit which will give you what you want, just chucking it in can make things alot worse. So make sure a sub box
