Hey all,

I need some advise concerning styling. I have a 1999 bravo 1.2 and have been persuaded by a mate to buy some window tint film from Halfrods.... lol

The body has a few scratches in various places from the previous owners, and it is 'grey' in colour although everyone says it looks silver.

I am very worried that I may end up looking like a complete dick going about with this on the rear windows. Any suggestions on weather I should apply it, or success stories would help!

Thanks
sam

by all means, go for it, it can only go wrong and u can rip it all off.

but for peace of mind, if get it done professionally done for £30 a window!

as above - DIY tints is gash unless you are very skilled.

even then the film from halfords is cheap and nasty

get it done professionally.

Yea I see what your saying, but Im' on a bit of a budget, thats why I thought Halfrods. But as long as i don't open them, i can always get a! :D
refund.

So even if you're very careful, still comes out cheap and tacky? :/
Where do you go to get it done pro for £30 a window, sounds a good price!

Pro all the way. I foolishly tried it once. Wasted my money on the film as it got ripped off again immediately.
The rears are not straight. Everyone of them has a curve on them. To practice, try wrapping an orange with a piece of A4 with no creases or folds. If you can do this then go ahead and do your own tints :)
Pro. Results will be a million times better

Ahh, now its all clear now! lol the orange helps!

Refund time.
So where can i get tints done for £30 a window then?

MOST places do them for around that.£150 is an average amount for all the back.

Ouch, seems a lot more than £40 from Halfrods, but you make a fair point. No chance of a **** up!

Don't spose anyone knows any where specifically, in Bedfordshire,

i'm waiting for a quote to have my windows tinted i'm going for moonraker black stainless metalized they look silver in day time and black at night

"Got money?" "Get inked!"

As above, its nearly impossible to do yourself as you need to heat and stretch/shrink the film in different places. Its not even remotely easy to do. If you are on a budget its better left not done at all than done DIY. And trust me when i say i'm always telling people to DIY stuff, but absolutely not in this instance....
