I got a good idea, why dont we all get along and make friends :D

this is supposed to be a friendly forum after all

theres nothing wrong with skoda anyway, there just not as cheap as they used to be :)

Threres are more than a few snide remarks towards fiats on the skoda forum though;)
to be fair, at work, skoda's dont go wrong as much as fiats do maybe 5 a month compared to 15 a month.... the difference is, fiats will be in the dealer for 2 or 3 days with problems like EMLs or boot catches, perhaps door hinges... where as every skoda that has broken in the last two months has needed either extensive engine work needing or a whole engine transplant (under warranty of course )

My contact at Skoda Uk tells me that this is the case throughout the entire range. which to be honest is a shame considering since they have been bought out they have beendoing such a good job

stone care peterborough are useless. i bought my car from there, and it needed the blueandme system updating, and putting in english. they said they would get back to me, as had to get a cd from lincoln to do itn. i still to this day havent heard anything and that was last july. i went into a garage in great yarmouth in july, and they done it there and then for me.
next was my strut mounts. just after christmas, they needed raplcing they said i would have to wait 4 weeks to get it checked to see what it was, then possibly 3 or 4 weeks further to get it done. i wnet into fiat corby, which is only half hour away, and they took it in straight away, told me it was the strut mounts need replacing, and booked it in for 3 days after. stoneacre also told me that they cant give me courtesy cars or anything, and fiat at corby did no problem.
this morning i popped to stoneacre with a dispute over my aa one year assurance cover. i bought my car in june, and aa said it runs out at beginning of march. when i asked them at stoneacre this morning after talking to aa. stoneacre said the cover began when the car was made in march. so my car had aa cover ffrom march to june, when it was justsitting in a showroom without an owner, tax anything??!!??

my personal opinion of them has dropped massively over the last year, and i think i will adopt fiat corby as my dealership lol

courtesy cars are as there name suggests, courtesy and not a unwritten law.

People seems to forget the expense in having courtesy cars, you have to pay for everything in life unfortunally even courtesy car hire in the event of a accident costs you in your insurance premium so why should it be provided for free if your car is info repair? I dont think the garage should subsidise a poor product or the error of the customer.

Stoneacre FIAT Peterborough were terrible when I purchased a new Stilo in 2003, the three years of ownership and my experience with them was poor to say the least.

I've had no dealings with them since 2006.

I've been in twice since buying my Bravo and nothing has changed, the service and care is disgraceful. The service receptionist is a waste of time, why have women who don't understand anything remotely technical at the front desk? The parts department leaves a lot to be desired, a relaxed approach is at best how I can describe their attitude and they still perservere with the same old fella who's been there since 1951. They should take a look at Donalds Alfa, their parts man, Jason, is enthusiastic, sells you more than you went in for cause he is passionate about Alfas, sells lots of accessories via the forums and has a 21st Century approach to marketing the brand. Stoneacre needs an injection of enthusiasm instead of the same old tired staff and tired old poor service ethos.

I'm going to be using them to sort out the suspension knocks on my Bravo, I'll report back on my experience. The last time I reported on these jokers, I posted in forums, sent all communication and correspondence to national and local press, copied FIAT UK into all communications and got their regional manager, Bob, redeployed to another area after he professionally offered to fight me.

Back to the original question, do they still give FF members a discount on parts and accessories?

This dealership is a joke!

the guy who sold me the car, so sales staff. he then left a few days later, and he promised me that his colleague would be in contact. i contacted them a few times over whether the cd had arrived, and he kept saying it will soon.
i know a courtesy car is courteous, but corby fiat do it, and iv read in other threads fiat dont have the best reputation, and its the little things they dont do like courtesy cars that can rally make a difference.
im not sure if it was pre registered, a man before me ordered the car to his spec how he wanted it, then couldn't get finance. so it sat in the showroom. it had number plates on it, but wasn't taxed or anything, and i couldn't get an insurance quote straight away, as it wasn't on the dvla register. so does this mean it was pre registered then? i would of thought it wasn't as it wasnt on dvla register. i know it was made march 12th, but not sure when he was refused it, and i bought it on june 8th.

when i first got my car i had it serviced at Stoneacre peterborough i found the prices really high to a near ridiculous level they wanted £230 for rear brake drums??? i had them done with fiat parts for £64 elsewhere (including the parts) and they wanted i think £64 a tyre for avon tyres i got 4 Toyo T1-R's for £119 and they are better tyres as well. I use the parts dept. a bit to but only for little things as they are also very expensive it works out cheaper calling partsworld or shop4parts and paying the P&P :) don't know how these places can charge much less.

Also another thing i have found, they do not use fiat recommend oils (selenia/ tutela) While in there i caught a eye of Drivemaster oil??? isn't this a bit naughty as their service isn't the cheapest around so you'll at least expect genuine recommended stuff. i'm sure drivemaster is fine but surely selenia should be used as that is what the manual says and FIAT recommends plus its the best to use.

haven't had it serviced there since im afraid!!!

they called me today saying i needed my first service. i bought my car last june, and refused saying that its not due till june, and thats when il service it. the guy was like well you will lose your warranty then!!??!! how!! same with my aa assurance, iv had the car from june, and their telling me the aa assurance runs out in a couple of weeks, and my service is due. i might seek advice from somewhere, because im not happy about it all to be honest

do you get all the gunk mail and scams through the post saying your car has an urgent recall??? i have had two of these letters called Fiat directly and they said there was no recall?????

they have stopped now after calling twice to get removed from their mailing list.

sound like a bunch of cowboys.

(addressed to the last post) call another garage and ask them if you have to have a service every 6months or 12months? i dont know about the warranties can you get it serviced elsewhere (another fiat garage) or does it have to be the garage you bought from?

The service receptionist is a waste of time, why have women who don't understand anything remotely technical at the front desk?

Bit unfair...I kn ow many technical women who can put majority of guys to shame with their technical knowledge. If your not happy with them you should be talking to the DET as you should be anyway.

Reckon you could of took him?...to be honest i'd be annoyed if someone got me moved away from my work possibly resulting in moving house and kids schools etc..but I dont know the whole story etc etc

iv read in other threads fiat dont have the best reputation, and its the little things they dont do like courtesy cars that can rally make a difference. .

but Fiat dont buy/run the cars, its part of dealer standards to have 2 courtesy cars...its the dealer that buys/insures/taxes them not Fiat.

im not sure if it was pre registered.

next time your at nearest dealer ask for a S.I.G.I printout(y)

i havent yet, but my dad does with his stilo, he didnt even buy it there, hes had it serviced there twice and they send him letters like that quite often. the carr ahs to ber serviced every year, or 18k miles, whichever soonest. my car was made in march last year, but sat in the showroom till june when i bought her, and its only done 12000 miles. you can get it serviced at any fiat dealership, or registered garage. i had my strut mounts replaced at corby fiat under warranty, and will go there when i do get a service. there customer service is much better, and they are a good garage (y) it takes me 35 minutes to get there, only 10 mins more than stoneacre pborough. u should check it out as well :). its called rockingham cars.

aslong as your getting the level of service you are happy with then thats good:)

Afraid I wont be able to personally check them out as they are 300miles away but thats anyway;)

Had my Mk1 punto recall done at a fiat approved garage in kings lynn (either AMG or EMG). They provided a courtesy car (cost me £10 for full insurance) and they seemed to be a lot better than stoneacre. When I last went in there for a tub of the black silicone sealent the parts guy asked straight away about a new rocker cover gasket before I had a chance to ask him for one. They are as expensive as any main dealer though.

they called again today regarding a service. they wanted 157 pounds for first service. iv taken the plunge and booked it for next saturday (6th march), i thought id give them one more chance. is 157 pounds a normal/good rpice for a first servcie on a gp diesel?
i will ask for a sigi printout, thanks (y)
regarding courtesy cars, i knew they bought the cars off fiat, but i didnt know they would have to spend their own money to insure and tax them.

They tell you a load of bull!

Go to an independent, use genuine FIAT parts and your warranty is still valid, they try to scare people with the warranty void thing.

Regardless of what some of the above people (who live 300 miles away) and have no experience with this dealership, I can tell you they are poor.

Since my last FIAT in 2003, I have had Renault, Vauxhall and VW and all three of these dealerships have put FIAT Stoneacre to shame. Other than using the parts department because it's convenient, I wouldn't give these jokers a penny of my hard earned money.

I purchased my latest FIAT from the Co-Operative group in Derby and they were fantastic. The level of service was near on the same standard as John Lewis, I thouroughly recommend them. They were courteous, helpful, enthusiastic, the sales guy that dealt with me was a proper petrol head and knew his stuff, they gave me a good discount, a couple of extras, points on my Co-Op account and were in constant communication via phone and email throughout the whole process, a really good purchasing experience.

mk1 recall, what was that brake pipes? Still cost you £10 though, directline insure me for fiver a day when required so i reckon garage still make a few quid;)

i thought id give them one more chance

tell them you'll be doing a full report after the service on the largest fiat site on the web...(y)
