Dear Friends:
I want to put some power into my 2005 Stilo , It comes with the 1.8 L 16V 132 Cv Italian Engine, with a Wireless Acelerator and a Hitachi (Time and Fuel Computer)

Can somebody tell me if is possible to get some kind of turbo Kit thata comes with all the components: I want to increase power without change my car internals, may be less than a 80 BHP?

Thanks for you help.

Hola, Juan

Welcome to the forum.

I am unable to help with your question, but I am sure that someone else will have the necessary information for you. (Some of the Greek guys do amazing things to their Stilos.)

I have been on holiday to your beautiful country three times, and hope to go there again in the near future. (y)

Best regards

You can turbocharge any engine, however I would advise getting some lower compression pistons & different camshafts to lower the compression. This is for the longevity of your engine! (y) Theoretically you can use any turbo, but you may find you will have to have a custom made exhaust manifold! Then there is the ECU to worry about, I would advise using an incar boost controller to control the turbo, so effectively the turbo becomes a stand alone unit. An intercooler would also be beneficial. As for off the shelf kits I'm sorry I've never heard of any.

novitec supercharger is your best bet!!!

I agree with mat-nos. Have a look here: http://shophost.net/shop_n/catalog/kompinfo.htm

I have a custom made turbo-kit for my 1.6 Stilo and I got 170PS and 24kg torque. Its a bit tricky but I believe that a good technician can do it. My technician is being prepared to put a turbo-kit in a 1.8 Stilo from our club. He believes that he will come up to 210-220PS with a cost of about 3.000€-3.500€. You can find an extra ECU wich works parallel with the original one and you 've got a small panel in the car where you can change 4 different engine-maps by just pressing a button, with 500€.

Hi Ben :
The exhaust manifold is not a problem I can get one from Brazil , from a company called SPA Turbo, The issue is the ECU because mine is not re-programable and I need new ( bigger fuel injectors) , another thing is about lowering the compression rate and I dont want to touch the internals of my engine,The SPA (Brazil) quote me a Garret T25 Turbine +Custom exhaust manifold +custom Intercoolerand all the hoses and fittings for less than 1300 American dollars, so the problem still in the ECU

Thanks , regards: Juan

Wow Nikkos: I like your suggestion : Where I can get this Paralel ECU and the way to install it!! and do you use the Stock Injectors?
By the way I like your car !
Regards:Juan

I have stock injectors, but I have an extra (5th) one which is controled from the parallel ECU, and sprays when it is need it.

Hi Juan,

You should be able to get a paralel (also called a piggy-back) ECU from anybody who specialises in racing/performance modifications to cars. On your side of the world, you should be able to pick one up for less than $400 US.

Let us know how things go with the turbo!

what size turbo do you use and whats the psi to get 170ps??

could your man do one for an abarth with say a t3 turbo also would i need a 6th injector with mine??

if your not touching the internals of the engine then you really cant run much boost.the whole point of skimmed/shortened pistons is so you can up the compression.
you could use a sandwich plate between the head & block to lower the compression ratio but these dont offer the longevity of the pistons

I have a T25 Garrett with bearings, and the turbo works at 10-11 psi (0,7 bars)

I really cannot tell about an abarth engine. Here in Greece abarth Stilos are no more than 10-15 cars. The technician has to see and examine the engine in order to tell if and what he can do...

I replaced the standard flange with a thicker metallic gasket and the compresion fell from 10 to 8.1...
