Hi, I own a 2009 Grande Punto. About a week ago, while performing a parking maneuver with the A/C, radio, and lights on, the steering wheel became stiff and the EPS light came on. To test it, my friend and I repeated the same scenario, and the steering stiffened again. There's no issue while driving; so far, everything seems fine when the car is in motion. We replaced the battery, but the issue has occurred a few more times at low speeds or when idling. What could be the problem, and where should I focus my attention?

Check the fault codes in the Steering module (OBD2, Fiat dedicated software: FES, MES, AlfaOBD).
If power delivery is OK, then it's a steering itself (sensor in the steering wheel and so on, broken cables etc.).
Search. Plenty of existing content (Google, forums, YouTube - focus your attention there) on how to repair this system.
No need to ask or start new forum threads anymore.
