Punto (Mk2/2b) Squeaky back end

Hi my back end has developed a constant squeaking noise whilst driving, even on flat roads. My car is a 2001 punto elx. Just wondered whether it's something to do with my handbrake cable or whether it's something a bit more serious such as suspension and shocks? Thanks

Hello and Welcome to the forum,

Squeaking noise, couid be the rubber eyes on top of the Shock'Absorbers,
Try squirting the rubber with abit of Wd40 or some sort of oil in Spray form
& see if Squeak goes,

Besides that check Exhaust /Backbox hangar rubber,

also check first if its not the Tailgate making the squeak, when you open tailgate you will see two rubber pointy things screw these all the way in,

get one of your mates to rock the car whilst you pinpoint the area of the squeak, if its middle of car, id say its the rubber buffers on tail gate,

Ive got this have a look at your handbrake cable they come out of the brackets and the rubber gets worn so metal vs metal hence squeak grease um up pop into holder withbit of force good as new
