Well changed the discs within... 20 minutes then i started on the pads.... 3 hours later I've no brakes let's start off with the absolute shambles of Allen key nuts open it up pull the pad from the caliper went to pull it all back together not happening the piston would not budge!!! Think it's seized anyone any ideas tips as I now have no car

I think it's totally seized they look old and rusty I opened the nipple a little bit... Nothing, I haven't got a g clamp either

you shouid of pushed piston back before removing old pad's.

open bonnet and check how much fluid is in there if full take some out,
then push piston back, put old pads back in to lever against,

iuse an old flat wood chissel

if youve got an old mastic/silicone gun lying around,

make one of these,

I have a dedicated brake g-clamp especially for brakes!

I have broken many screwdrivers in the past trying to lever the piston in on callipers now I wind them in, in seconds with a clamp

I put the new caliper on put the pads on the Allen key nuts won't tighten all the way in
Allen Key Nuts?

Never heard of them....

Allen Key bolts - yes - like astra's have that often round or thread

Without seeing whats what infront of me - i'd be saying either
A - the threads have gone
B - Allen Key stripped
C - Something isn't setup right

Ziggy

Oh god - you've got those horrible type of sliders......

Dont like them, hex's round easily and alot of people forced them together strip threads

Looks to me like your piston isn't sitting Flush in the cave to start with
Its look Mighty rusty and crusty....

That may explain why you cant bolt up - as the "Bolts" Aren't near the holes

Thats what i can see from that

I really think that caliper needs a good cleanup almost....

Get it working first then tackle aesthetics
