I am fitting Seat belts to my 1974 Giardiniera so the tapped holes are already there.
I have measured the threads and get 2 possible sizes.
11mm dia x 1.25mm pitch (logic metric car) or very very close 7/16" x 20 tpi unf.
can someone confirm which is the correct size please

Seat belts used to use a standard thread of 7/16" unf, even on otherwise 'metric' cars. The bolt head size is so close to a metric (17 or 19mm, can't remember which) that some never noticed.

Many vehicles since the eighties have used definite metric heads, but I think they are still 7/16" unf. This seems to be what Securon say, without making exceptions for non-UK vehicles.

Yes, 7/16" x 20tpi UNF. Bolt head size is 11/16" AF.
11/16" AF = 0.686" ; 17mm = 0.669", so only 7 thou difference.

Thanks to confirm i seemed to remember UNF for all seat belts including metric cars.
A bit like Wheel dia in Inches thanks to Dunlop.

Although Michelin did try to challenge this with their TRX metric diameter wheels/tyres in 1975. :)
