Hello forum. In an effort to get my car up to par, I want to change the old original rear springs.

My question pertains to what I need for the job. Is/was there a rubber seat under the spring? On top of the spring, there is a rubber seat and a metal ring.

Can someone confirm if I need the lower under spring rubber seat or not…..? Thanks.

As far as I’m aware, the spring rides directly on the rear suspension arms. There is, as you mention, a rubber spring seat above the spring between it and the body shell.

Certainly that’s how my car is assembled and seems to drive ok!

Only the top has the rubber buffer with the steel backing. Bottom of the spring sits direct on the suspension arm.

Ok…awesome guys. Thanks for confirming.🍻👍
Confirm what 'Toshi' mentions, but be aware that the steel backing and the rubber spring-seat are seperate items---both shaped to help align the spring correctly. If it helps, the Fiat part numbers are;---4121625 for the rubber and, 4115603 for the metal seat. The metal seat goes onto (above) the spring, and the rubber goes between the metal seat and the body-work
