Hi This is Tomcat7. I have a Fiat Scudo 2010 2.0 SWB. I used it as a work van from 2016-21. I then converted it to a camper. I have had an issue with it since I bought it in 2016. There is a vibration which shakes the whole front of the vehicle at slow speed worst at around 1500 - 2000 rpm in 2nd gear. I have fitted new drive shafts, new wheels & tyres, new clutch and dual mass flywheel, all new engine mountings and had injectors tested. Still exactly the same. The diesel engine specialist who did the check said he had come across another one similar to this and it was the differential sticking? Its very rare apparently. I wondered if anyone else has had a problem like this. It will need a replacement gearbox if this is the cure. Can’t think what else it could be. It’s really annoying to drive like this and the vibration must be putting alot of strain on other components.

I would get it on a proper four post garage ramp and safely support front suspension at normal working suspension height but with wheels off the ground and run at the speed the problem occurs in the gears it happens whilst someone is underneath checking where vibration etc. is coming from.
The normal sources you have mentioned and I assume eliminated. Faulty drive shaft, inner and outer CV joints including any debris in drive shaft cups, bent wheels , deformed tyres.
I have a 2010 2.0 LWB Scudo 120 Panoramic 8 seater with around 120K miles, engine was running bad on that, a second hand injector pump improved things but there was still a rattle which I eventually cured by fitting a new exhaust cam, chain , etc. etc. The drive to the injector pump on the end of the cam had almost broken completely away!
I have never heard of a diff causing this, but certainly after 55 years of motor trade I would never rule anything out;)

Hi. Yes I was in motor trade 34 years and never heard of that kind of diff fault. Agree it needs to be on ramp like u said. I’ll get someone to try and diagnose.
