Hi guys, been a while since i posted here.

I have a Scudo 2003 2.0 JTD van. Its pretty old now but i just keep fixing it up and its still running great.
But this winter, its having a bad time getting started with the temps down to -1.
I've already measured the voltages from the glow plug relay box and its working fine. 12v to the plugs for around 5 seconds. The glow plug dash light comes on but only very briefly, less than 1 second.
But none of the plugs are working, every one of them is open circuit. Never been changed since the van was new.
So my question is, just how difficult is it to change these? I can see them along the front of the engine with a common wire, but covered with other stuff, probably injector assembly?.
Looks hard to get to them all, maybe one is easy enough but not all of them.
Is this something i can tackle myself, Or does it need to go to a diesel specialist garage?.

Thanks.

I changed the ones on my 2010 2.0 16 valve Fiat Scudo and it was a nightmare as must be a different engine to yours they were at the back of engine tight to the bulkhead.
The engine in mine was the Peugeot RHR version and I got a uTube video of a bloke changing them on a Peugeot 407 with same engine, it involved removing EGR cooler and lots of other stuff, I used a camera to see what I was working on:)
Yours should be easier , but first identify which Engine Series yours is.

Thanks for getting back bugsymike.
That sounded like a right carry on :( Hope you got it sorted in the end.
I'm not totally sure what my engine type is but reading the manual its either the RHX or the RHZ. ie. 2.0 ltr(1997) 8 valve, JTD. The only difference i can see between them is the HP output. But yes, it looks like the glow plugs are at the front. (phew!).
Looks bad enough to me though, thinking all this stuff has to come out to gain access to the plugs..
Just wondering if anyone on here has done it.
cheers.

Yes it took a while but fortunately in Summer so not like working on it now. It was only because warning light was on , there was no starting issues.
Once I got to them they did undo easily to fit the new ones.
The main thing is not to break any off in the engine!
As it is the Peugeot engine, do what I did and identify it on the Peugeot Forum, as they will have changed a lot more and you may even find a uTube video to show what needs doing to help you decide if a job you want to do.:)
