My girlfriends father has a farm, but most farms have rats that would just chew the fabric :/

my garden backs onto a farm loads of rats about but they never ate the marquee when it was stored here nor did they eat my own one that was up in the garden permanently from when ff got their own until i sold it a couple of weeks ago http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262580839747

Give that this site has a huge membership how about offering a business, somewhere in the centre of the country, a free advertising space in exchange for storage? Example: They get to advertise their MOT / tyre and servicing deals indefinitely in exchange for a space on their premises. That would also make access easier as there would be business opening hours and you know it would be secure.

Advertising is expensive, this would be a win / win.

Tell that to the mice that chewed my tent and p***ed over it. It was in the garage corner and a perfect nesting site.

BTW Mars bars work VERY well as mouse trap bait.

tents are made of nice soft stuff not like these marquees that are more or less plastic, the rats ate a lot of other stuff in the garden like a panda seat and bulkhead padding stuff but they have never touched the marquee

Not sure her father would like the idea sadly ;)

I think the decision is made now that we sell it and purchase something more suitable next year. (y)

shame as it really made a stand look like a stand :(

how about getting a caravan and just parking it in caravan storage:idea: some charge as little as £55 a year to park a caravan, ask on local facebook selling pages to find one near to you.

Last time I looked for caravan storage (a local charity I help uses one) I tried everywhere locally and they wanted about £55/month

It is ashame but you have to admit it is a pain to shift about. Years ago we not only have the van to store it in but also somewhere to keep it so it all worked beautifully but with the loss of the van then the storage it's become a double blow so a better solution is needed. :(

I personally think this will be a good thing. A new start with new equipment and hopefully a much better vibe at the events :)

Well if we do decide to get them Amazon UK seems to be the cheapest place for the Main Deluxe Shelter:

Coleman Event Shelter Deluxe XL - 4.5M x 4.5M (all weather waterproof gazebo): Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

Caravans of any quality are costly, need to be insured, storage costs a lot and parked tyres will degrade quite quickly. Then they have to be towed to site and set up. When done they provide camping for very few people. Caravans as show stands have the same issues but cost even more money.

Keep it simple. The old marquee provided that but as times have changed a lightweight solution is needed. The dome gazebos really are good looking and far better than the usual box frame jobs. The only disadvantage is when the show site changes by 3m pitch sizes. The domes need more space but look 100% better and a set of three (or even five) would be stunning.

it wouldn't need to be quality just to park on a farm for storage i often come across ones for less than 50 quid that have been stripped of interior for a camper conversion.

If we are having problems finding storage for a marquee aren't we making the problem bigger by suggesting buying a caravan then finding storage for that ?

Seriously? Its likely the axle is falling out, wheels rusted solid with clapped out tyres and everything leaks. BTW yellow windows are not good either.
