Yeah, I can, but I just feel the car has far more power than is necessary. Also, if I do boot it, I get a huge plume of black smoke out of the back!!

Not a problem though, Red-Dot were really cool about things, and said bring it back in and they will hook it up and map it to my requirements. I'm only about 10 miles away from Watford when im at work so its not a problem.

Panzy! lol, just don't give it so much throttle and then you can get used to it then burn people off when you need to

I had mine done and it is alot more off a beast now. not as easy to drive makes it more fun tho. Fantastic low down in the revs now makes it alot more like a petrol round town. only thing i dont like it the black smoke when i was full throttle on the motorway on the way back up on sunday. Great ghosting other car tho.

What figures did u end up getting pal?? i left before i got chance to ask u?

Well I find mine much easier to drive smoothly and I get very little smoke under hard acceleration. Been re-mapped over a month now and its made my car loads smoother, WTF are you guys doing?

All three of us had black smoke on the dyno when at the peak

It is very rare i am full throttle in 6th that is the only time i have noticed it on the way home. It does make the car easy to drive smoother. In the wet it is lively

Ah... I got smoke on the dyno too but very little when accelerating up to speed on a Motorway TBH. Most cars are lively in the wet but lets be honest here, we are talking 190 bhp approx at the flywheel, probably 140 - 145 bhp at the wheels... its not Supercar power, not really even Hot-Hatch power.

I just drive to the conditions, I'm sure the over exuberance we get with "all that power" being released will soon subside though.

After driving home using it more it ant that bad at all now. u just learn to drive the car and what you can do in it great fun tho when u do put your foot down.

Sure... its the nippyness through the gears and the ability to short-shift and get about really quickly but within the speed limits I enjoy, the car really does suprise some better known mid-range performance cars that way.

I agree shock most who have been in it. I enjoy mine within the speed limits. For town driving it is fantastic to drive makes it so much like my old petrol cars. The more mpg is great addon

just keep an eye on the hose connections for coolant and bring your service intevals in to allow for the extra strain and stresses mate, I plan to do an oil and filter change between scheduled services.

I already had a coolant leak before the map. I dont do the milage mine is just done every 12months it is well in for that. Ffoxy is it running better than you thought it would after the map. I followed your thread about worries about doing the map. I just hope i should have no prob beacuse i dont push the car and it is 08 so hopefully no dogy turbo.

a few of you oil burners was getting a fair bit of smoke on the before runs too, me thinks you booting it more to test out the maps so are only now noticing smoke that was always there

I already had a coolant leak before the map. I dont do the milage mine is just done every 12months it is well in for that. Ffoxy is it running better than you thought it would after the map. I followed your thread about worries about doing the map. I just hope i should have no prob beacuse i dont push the car and it is 08 so hopefully no dogy turbo.

Its not so much the mileage but the extra loads you will now put on the lubricant and engine / turbo in general reaper. FIAT set the annual / 18,000 mile Service intervals based on their known standard car performance / load characteristics which are changed by the re-mapping.

Do you think i need to do an extra service before even tho i only do 8-9k a year.Sorry should of been a bit more clear on that my coolant leak was sorted about 3 weeks before the map. no way would i put my car on the dyno or travel 300m round trip if my car wasn't running right to start with. I never had black smoke before the map, i only noticed it when i was going home on sunday. I don't boot it everywhere i go. so i don't really expect it to.
