Technical removing fiat ducato comfortmatic hydraulic pump

Hi All

I have been following up a problem with my Ducato 2015 3 ltr comfortmatic hydraulic pump not powering up.
I have found power is getting to the pump and the pump ground earth is o/k. but the pump will not run.
Problem looks like failed pump motor.
So the question is has anybody changed the pump in place without removing the gearbox.
I have looked around the internet but can find no useful info.
Will jack up van tomorrow and look but any info / ideas please.

I have read a few posts in a German forum about van owners who have replaced the pump motor from below. It seems to be "possible but uncomfortable". According to the entry linked below, the entire pump unit needs to be removed.
