General Removal of steering wheel

its really easy Charlotte, depends what style of wheel you have. Basically, remove the horn cover first. On the four spoke ones there a couple of screews at the back. Once cover is off undo the large nut holding wheel on and once youve taken the various washers off just bang it hard and it will come off. Remember, when you put the new one on to make sure its straight before you do everything back up tight. Best way is to drive in a straight line for a few yards, youll be surprised how wonky it can go after replacing one.

A word of caution.
If you are fond of your front teeth: follow all of the instructions posted earlier by my learned friends BUT ... before you give the steering wheel a big 'bang' from behind, put the large column securing nut back on and turn it a couple of times. This will prevent the wheel from leaving the column in a hurry and removing half of your face.
