Hello.
I am a senior mechanic but a newbie on Fiat.
My Ex-wife has a Fiat Bravo Diesel 1.9 multi-Jet since a couple of years. We now think that she has a damage in the Fuel Tank or in the fuel pipe near the tank. The tank is wet and if the tank is full then it been a puddle of diesel on the ground between rear tire. And its smell diesel.
Has check all that you can see from under but i must remove some plastic covers to get closer.
My first question is how you remove the covers? I see a pin with treads that come from above but not any nut or so to release. Has try to turn something around with av screwdriver and a plier but there is not anything to remove. Is it screwed from the floor in front of backseat? The cover is properly attached so i dont think any nut of like has disapear in rust or so. How to remove the plastic covers under the car around the fuel tank?
My second question is if it is something special to get care of when you remove the fuel tank?
My plan is to release the fuel hose and cables from the top of the tank. Take the cover of that is under the backseat and just release everything. After that release the three screws that hold the Fuel Tank band and release the intake hose from back.
But before i do that i want to get some pressure in the fuel host from the intake in the filter just to see if there is a damage at the hoses. To do that i must first release all the covers so i see the hoses. But i dont know how to remove it without break the plastic.
With kind regards
Kalle.
