Hello all
Fiat scudo 2009, camper conversion, 38000 miles
So i have been having some issues with the left offside wheel, went to get 4x new tyres and was advised 'the left offside wheel is too close to the bodywork and axel looks bent'. I then proceeded to take it to multiple garages who informed me there was no obvious bend in the axel however there is a notable negative camber to both rear wheels. I was advised that eventually the camber would worsen to the point where the tyres would touch the bodywork... They said all CV joints, suspension etc are all ok. I have had no accidents and there has been no history of any with the vehicle. I am struggling to understand why this is happening and if anyone else has had this issue, or if potentially replacing the rear axel would solve the problem? Nobody seems to know what they are talking about and I am worried all 4 wheels are going to just fall of when driving :ROFLMAO:.
TIA

If yours is like my 2010 Scudo Panaramic 130 then the solid beam axle could only give negative camber if grossly over loaded!
I have only ever seen that once on a solid axle on a Ford Transit Pickup used by "tarmac boys" who had replaced the bump stops with sawn off scaffold pole meaning the could carry on overloading as long as they dared!
However is your Scudo a Peugeot rebadged, as Peugeot used a torsion bar suspension on some smaller models within the "solid beam axle" so no external coil springs. On that version when the bearings in the rear arms were worn they would give negative camber in rare cases, but usually accompanied by awful creaking. :(
A repair kit for the axle was available on those, but a lot of work so many bought the reconditioned axle complete.
