Styling Rear view mirror cleaning

My newly-acquired Spider's rear view mirror was basically unusable due to fogginess after sitting in a garage for ~12 years. Took it apart today, hit it with some dish soap, Windex on the mirror & glass, and plastic restorer on the plastic pieces. Much better!

Yes, there is a trick. There's a small slot in the rear view mirror assembly base near the glass. It's on the bottom side (toward the dash). It's just large enough to fit a flat-head screwdriver. I inserted a screwdriver and rotated carefully to gently pry the rear view mirror assembly from its mount.

Remounting is easier, you just push it back on.
