General Rear suspension mount failed mot

My 2008 Doblo 1.9 multijet has just failed its MOT

• Nearside Rear Suspension spring mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength chassis above rear spring hanger (5.3.6 (a) (i)

I bought it for £1,200 four months ago, before hand it’s had a recent new clutch, cambelt, new tyres all round and full service history.

Any advice in terms of cost or if it’s event worth doing? I do have a hobby mig welding machine from years ago when I tried to very badly weld an old VW T25.

It's worth fixing if you can do this yourself.

It's hard to tell how much a garage would charge without pictures, could you take some?

What happened?

The Doblo lives to fight on for another 12 months, cost £220 in labour from a great local guy and £120 for a rear silencer. Passed MOT retest today, happy days.
