Technical Reading ECU

This feels like a pretty stupid question. But the reason behind it is I've seen people purchase and it not working at all.

Can someone please show me exactly what I need to connect to my 54 plate punto MK2b ECU to turn off my airbag light and read diagnostics.

I've found this one with all the adapters http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=271438779832 but he said it won't work with my car and redirected me to one double the price, should I take his word or are they all the same?

That will work with your car for most things (airbags included), there are a few features that will require an ELM 327 module in addition. However, the adapter requirements for each feature are all shown here.

Don't forget to read what your airbag fault is and take corrective action before clearing it.

Is there anything I can do on the one you sent that I can't do on the eBay one or should I just go ahead with the eBay one?

Not that I'm aware of, but that's more of an "I haven't come across any problems yet" than speaking from any electrical engineering experience.
