Some ideas: the radio is actually a CAN-Bus node and for some reason it's not found in the network. Odometer flashes.
There can be several reasons:
The radio has no power (check fusibles, wiring)
The radio was recently swapped or there is some other reason why the CAN-Bus network suddenly won't find it anymore (you need to do a procedure called proxy alignment)
