Ok, possibly looking at buying a non runner to fix up and sell on or fix up and run as daily car and main car when cinq comes off road in next 3-4 months for its respray possibly (obv money situ depending lol)... but she's up leeds way and is a non runner suspected head gasket, how dodgy would it be (or is it even feasable) for me to travel up there, push her out into the road and call breakdown? or is it one of the most stupid ideas ive ever had? (take some doing!)

well RAC screwed me over last time, guy point blank refused to repair the car at roadside (nut had fallen off holding gbox bracket to rear engine mount) saying he wasnt a garage and didnt sell nuts, so towed me to alex22's (was visiting at the time heh), so i owe them a screw over kinda? :p

have breakdown cover with both, AA the one i want to keep on good terms with mind  :p

It's fraud though, so if you get caught then you will have to pay the full cost and you would probably be banned from ever being a member again. They have banned people before.

I wouldn't do it.

it has worked for me a few times, once with a clutch cable i couldnt be bothered fixing and once when i dropped a nut in the tb and couldnt get it out

i suppose it cause im on first name terms with them with all the call outs i have had

It's easy... Top-up oil, and other fluids with any old crap. Then basically say to AA/RAC "It's been sat of a while, used to be my uncle/sister/mum/dad/whatever 's car, and I just tried it out, it's buggered".

Act dumb, basically. You're not really cheating, you have broken down!

We once done this with a Polo G40. Just took the ECU out... hmm, Mr. AA man it doesn't start.

people did this with my sisters old 106 when we sold it.. head gasket had gone and they topped it up with water and drove it around the corner and called the RAC.

go for it! its what you pay them for.

Er No, you don't pay them for this, you pay them to cover you when you actually own the car not to buy a knackered car and get it transported free.
