Make it ten if this will fit a 500. I spent some time on the track last weekend this is exactly what I need. At some later stage I might be up for another for the frankenpanda project. But for now, I've got the 1.4 fire with 6 speed in the 500 and this sounds ideal. Nigel, when and how much deposit and how do I get it to you?

The 500 box is the same. The address has been PM'd so that's 10 then...

If our Polish and German cousins come through, we could have nearly 20 sold. Hey, that could make them even cheaper???

Remember one thing though, this price is a one off. I have been advised that the price after the initial batch is made will be in the region of £600 +vat.

Hi all,

I went to Quaife today, and was greeted with politeness and professionalism.

First, the good news..... There shouldn't be a problem with getting them made, or the price.

Second, the bad news.... They probably won't make this diff as a stock item for the future. So, those of you who want to leave it a few months might come unstuck. I have been told that even when they have the pattern, they will probably only ever make batches of ten. You have been warned.

I'm now in discussion about them making a straight cut output shaft and Crownwheel for the 'box...we'll see where that leads over the next couple of weeks.

They have also said that they will not be interested in shipping to everyone, so I guess it'll have to be me then!!

Just to let you all know, Quaife have quoted £460 each for 10 off, as long as it's not too complicated to make.

I can't see any real problem in them being able to make it, it's probably a standard QDH2K with different splines on the output shafts.

At £460, it's about a quarter of the cost of a Bacci???

I've recieved one PM telling me that the Crownwheel cannot be seperated from the diff onCinq's. that can't be right..surely?? I've never seen a diff where the crownwheel is integral.

I don't know personally, but if it can't, we have problems, as I know the number of teeth on a

2002 SEicento Sporting (mpi) vs a 2006 Panda 100hp

are different.

I initally tried to swap my diff iver, rather than remove the cups, and it wouldn't fit.

If thats the case, and you can't remove it, we have problems.

Brooky has my old box i gave him I thihnk. The diff casing on that is only lightly held together with the bolts, so should take only a few minutes to remove.

The crownwheel on the 100hp diff is bolted to the casing with 10 off M10 bolts. The pictures that Kritip put up a while back showed the same 10-bolt pattern.

The fact that Bacci sell replacement crownwheels for this box means that the crownwheel is removeable.

I must have been mad to even contemplate posting the fact that there is a possibility that the crownwheel canot be removed!!

I don't have a picture of the 5 speed though.


Also, just to note, when being developed, the highlighted isn't used on the 6 speed boxes normally, but is vital for anyone with a cinq or sei, as it drives out speedo cog and pickup. If quafie remove it, as they don't think its necessary, there'll be quite a few people in trouble (also, i'd imagine it will have a small effect on the speedo, being on an output shaft?)
