go to every scrappy and you will see a mk2 in there or a ton i know a scrappy about an hours drive from me has quite a few mk2bs in there even the odd grande punto. so yeah, as ziggy wiggy said they are dying out, only people who will have a mk2/2b are usually enthusiasts or people who like a budget car

Poor little Mk2b's... The Mk1 and 2's are the Punto's I remember growing up with. My dad had an '97 Punto 55 Team 3 door in black when I was a kid. I used to love it! Thats probably what got me into Punto's in the first place.

I can't believe I've gotta wait till I get paid again to get a badge-less grill off eBay...

The mk2s are fun little cars i owned one myself until rust was becoming too much of an issue so it had to be scrapped in the end

I'll be honest i brought my punto cause it was all i could afford at the time, this was like 3 years ago. Then got to the point i was digging in my wallet too often for repairs so decided enough is enough and brought a new car a non-fiat.

A little mod that I did a few days back that I forgot to post on this thread, was the other Abarth sticker that I was talking about to go in my engine bay.

Well here it is! The pictures are pretty self explanatory. (I did post this on My Punto MK2b thread in Members Motors, but forgot this thread).

They are.. really bad! Its a thing thats been dragging the look of my car down for ages now. I've tried Brasso and toothpaste but neither help them in the slightest. The cutting compound seems a little bit of a hard job to me.. I can imagine myself ruining my headlights even more. I've heard about the professionals who can do it for you for a decent price.. Might look into it.

Another visual improvement(?) to my car.. Under dash lighting!

I brought some stick on, cigarette lighter powered lights. Next I had the dilemma of how to hide the wires.

So I decided to take off the centre console to hide the wires behind. Also I wanted the cigarette lighter plug to come through the ash tray to plug into the cigarette lighter. Then when I don't need the lights, I can keep it stashed away in the ash tray! Genius!

So i set to it.. Taking off the centre console, getting the plug through the hole in the back of the ash tray, sticking the lights to the underside of the dash, tying the loose wires up and sticking them with masking tape and then finally put everything back together again.

A few problems occurred though.. I had to stick the lights in the passenger footwell facing upwards towards the glovebox. This means that they're not very bright. My second problem was that on the drivers side, one of the lights had come unstuck.. So I quickly pushed it back, in the wrong place! So now there's a random light facing the middle of the footwell. Need to sort that in the morning when I can actually see!

Overall I'm pretty pleased with the result! Considering they were only £3 off Amazon

Two more things I've added to my Punto..

First of all, something I should've had a long time ago... The Fiat Forum sticker.

And secondly.. Yet another controversial badge.. A HGT bootlid badge.

Its surprisingly easy to do! I just brought a sheet of A4 transparent, self adhesive vinyl for £2 off eBay. Then I drew around a milk bottle top (I have to admit it was a little small, might need a bigger circular thing to draw round), and cut it out. I also cut slits around it for it to fit on the curve without creasing. Then I went to my car and stuck it on. I have to admit, I didn't stick it on that great, it creased. I had to add a few more off-cuts to completely cover the lens (this is because I didnt cut a big enough circle). But other than that, it worked great. Looks really good too!

Got round to doing a mod I've admired on other peoples cars for a while now.


It just took a bit of £4 black vinyl wrap off eBay, hard graft and lots of patience!

Looks great though now it's done
