Technical Punto creaking at rear

I have just got a new W-reg Punto 1.2. Am very happy with it apart from a creaking noise that appears to be coming from the rear suspension.

I know very little about cars so I am not sure if it can be rectified. It isn't continuous and seems to happen particularly when braking. I am assuming that it is the suspension because it creaks when bouncing the car when parked.

I didn't notice it until last night (have had it a week) but before that it had a squeaking clutch (which has been sorted with WD40 ) so may not have noticed it. Any ideas?

Its your rear tailing arm, yes your correct to think it your suspension because it is. The part cannot be repaired, the whole thing needs replace, for about £55-60. Go to a motor factors to buy the part as Fiat will sting you for it.

The springs could be creaking in the cups, try WD40ing the entire rear suspension.
