Hi! I have recently bought a Panda Waze 4x4 which came with the Fix and Go kit. I want to replace this with a spacesaver spare wheel but the central screw thing that holds the polystyrene housing for the Fix and Go just turns without coming out. Is there a knack to this or should I just pull the polystyrene gubbins out leaving the plastic screw thing in place? Anyone had experience of this and can advise? Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I did a little research in ePER and it seems it's the part marked 2:

It has a typical thread underneath:

You will need it also for the tool holder you put in the wheel. However no idea if it's exactly the same, as there are 2 different part numbers.

It looks to me the thread got some rust and was stuck and the plastic holder just spins around the bolt hexagonal thread. I assume ;)

The 499 option on the list is the tyre repair kit, so I think you'll need this one: 46761191 and not the 51755749.

Double check before you purchase!

FYI, ePER is the FIAT spare parts catalogue. The link is on the bottom of the forum banner. Search window is top left of the screen. You can browse by models and categories or, which I recommend, search with the VIN number to have the parts that fit your car. In every moment you can push the 'Show all results' button below the parts list to have all of them in this category. On top of my screenshot you can find through which categories you have to go to get to this diagram / parts list.

Thank you so much for going to all that trouble, I appreciate it. Unfortunately it doesn't look at all like the one on my car. The polystyrene one on mine is more of a rectangular shape and the plastic screw bit is different, it doesn't have a raised bit to turn it. It is flat with a slot for a screwdriver and and a curved arrow indicating which way to turn it. I already have a spacesaver wheel as I requested one when I bought the car but it is still in it's packaging as I haven't unwrapped it yet. I'll do a bit more digging with the information you have so kindly provided.

I cant quite remember what held the foam in mine but its all disposable if you fit spare wheel and jack. I just yanked it out the foam is no use for anything else. You will need the spare wheen retaining bolt for safety reasons if fitting a spare wheel. You dont want a spare wheel flying over the back seat if you have a crash. If its a plastic thing it will just be a push fit and a bit tough to pull out and thats is my recollection but thats 5 years ago now.
